Ann Elizabeth Henderson (Dougherty)
Ann E. Henderson of Yardley, PA died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. She was 94.
Ann is survived by her loving children Jim, Beth, and David Henderson and is also survived by her sister Mary DeSalvo and her husband Joe, seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Cornelius T. Henderson and the loving mother of the late Linda and Thomas Henderson.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Ann was the daughter of the late James and Catherine Dougherty.
Ann took considerable pride in her appearance with routine visits to her hair and nail salons. She had a strong passion for animals, particularly her many beloved dogs which she raised over the years. Ann enjoyed watching mystery movies and crime shows, especially the NCIS series. She had a sweet tooth for candy and cakes and enjoyed the occasional piña colada. She spent much of her time reading Daniel Steele novels, challenging her mind with word puzzles and she enjoyed supervising her son’s gardening activities at her home. Ann had a mental agility which was matched by her resilience to rise above life challenges. She often found innovative ways to adapt and enjoy life to the fullest with family and friends. She maintained her ability to have witty retorts as she affectionally interacted with her circle of loved ones. Above all, Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Ann will be greatly missed, but eternally loved by everyone who had the pleasure to have been in her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at 10:45AM on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road Newtown, PA 18940. A luncheon in Ann’s honor will be held immediately after the service.
