Robert Bruce Wayne
Robert Bruce Wayne, 81, of Stone Harbor, NJ, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was the husband to Pearl Geleta Wayne for 58 years.
Born October 22, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Roger and Elizabeth Korbeck Wayne.
Bruce grew up with a drive and passion to succeed. While working at Mobile Oil, he went to college at night to obtain his degree at LaSalle University. It was at Mobile Oil where he met the loving woman with whom he would spend the rest of his life, Pearl. He loved Pearl with all his heart. They went on to have two amazing children, Ryan and Brent, who would share many wonderful times with them travelling and spending time in the mountains and at the beach. There was never a dull moment, and many special memories were made.
His love only grew fonder when his children married their wives, Lynda and Lori. They were the daughters he never had and always complimented them on the way they looked and offered support and sage advice on success in their careers. It was not long before his children gave him grandchildren, who were the light of his eyes. Maddy, Cooper, Christian and Luke adored their Dedu. He always had a smile when his grandchildren were around.
After receiving his degree, Bruce went on to start his own company that grew to be very successful and is still growing today, in great part due to his business partner Richard Dougherty. He loved the people he worked with and always considered them family. He had a unique way of working with people that made them feel special, needed and loved. His belly laugh in the office would have everyone laughing at their desks, even if they didn’t hear the conversation he was having. He was extremely personable and beloved by everyone who worked with him.
Along with his wife Pearl, Bruce is survived by his children, Ryan T. Wayne and his wife Lynda of Furlong, PA, Brent Wayne and his wife Lori of Collegeville, PA; grandchildren, Madilyn, Cooper, Christian, Lucas; siblings, Roger Wayne and his wife Marion, Betty Cwikla and her husband Edward, as well as many extended family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday morning, April 10th from 10:00 am till his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Bede The Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd, Holland. Interment will follow immediately after services at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Cemetery in Elkins Park.
