Sandy Alice Ruth

Born in West New York, NJ, Sandy lived in New Jersey before moving to Pennsylvania in 1990. She was active with the YMCA and was a Girl Scout recipient of the Golden Eagle Award. She was an active leader in the Girl Scouts.

Sandy attended Savage School for Health and Physical Education, East Stroudsburg Teachers College, and Hunter College, before receiving her BS at State College, Jersey City. She later attended Seton Hall University.

Sandy was a program director at the Plainfield YMCA as well as Director of Social Services of North Hudson Hospital, Health Educator for Point Pleasant, North Plainfield High Schools, Washington Jr. High and Roosevelt Jr. High, Westfield, NJ.

She was co-founder, co-owner and director of Tyrole' Camp for Girls, Oxford, CT for 26 years.

Sandy also was a member of the Society of American Magicians. She was a volunteer at Muhlenburg Hospital, Plainfield and McCutchen Friends Home, North Plainfield. In between she enjoyed traveling the world and performing magic.

She was the daughter of the late George and Anna Moller Ruth, she will be leaving wonderful memories with her daughter Harriet Bickerton and her husband Steven, of Green Brook, NJ, her two grandchildren Brandon and Kyle, and countless friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral, Sunday, March 9, 2003, 1:30 PM from the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd., (at Holland Road), Richboro, where friends may call after 1:00pm. Interment will be private.
