Armand E. Adams

Born in Philadelphia PA, Mr. Adams was a resident of Richboro for the past 56 years. After graduating from High School, Armand worked for Rohm & Haas while attending Drexel University evening school. In 1943 he joined the Engineering Staff of the Frankford Arsenal working in the Anti Aircraft Fire Control Laboratory, after which he was assigned as Projects coordinator for short range Anti-aircraft developments. In 1952 he became a founding partner in Arga Instrument Company and was Secretary Treasurer until Arga Instruments merged with Beckman Instruments. Armand’s professional career spanned over 50 years and he worked all around the World having worked for not only Beckman Instruments but for Leeds and Northrup and Unisys where he was one of the pioneers in the development of today’s computer. When he retired in 1984 he was Director of Public Relations and Facilities Planning for the Philadelphia Operations of Unisys. He was a member of the Instrument Society of America, American Ordnance Association and a Communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland and the Men of Malvern.

Son of the late Ernest and Anna Wolters Adams, beloved husband of Helen J. Duffy Adams to whom he was married to for 63 years. Armand is survived by his dear children and their spouses Armand J. Adams and his wife Marguerite of Churchville, Patricia Larsen of Doylestown PA, Maureen H. Adams of Newbury Ports MA, his sister Maryann Lynch of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his 6 dear grandchildren Andrea, Kelly Ann, Corinne, Megan, Armand III and Katelyn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend call Monday January 26, 2004 from 11:00AM until his Funeral Mass 12:00 Noon at St. Bede the Venerable Church 1071 Holland Rd, Holland, PA. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
