John G. Brodnyan

John G. Brodnyan of Newtown, PA died suddenly on
Sunday, November 29, 2009, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 80.
He was the beloved husband for 13 years of Katharine
H. "Nonie" Janson Brodnyan and the late Claire C. Brodnyan.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late
Lillian Sweeney Brodnyan.
Mr. Brodnyan was a resident of Newtown for the past 13
years and spent the winter months in Hudson, FL. Prior to moving to Newtown he
lived in Langhorne for many years. John received his bachelor degree from
Villanova University, Class of 1952 and did post graduate studies at both
Cornell University and Temple University. Before his retirement in 1992, Mr.
Brodnyan was employed as a research chemist at Rohm & Haas for 35 years and was
credited for achieving several patents during his career. In his leisure time,
he enjoyed sports, politics, travel and cooking. He will be sadly missed as a
devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four
children, James G. Brodnyan of Quakertown, Claire G. Fox and her husband,
Robert, of Deptford, NJ, Richard G. Brodnyan and his wife, Darlene, of
Langhorne, Gerard Brodnyan of Philadelphia, and his step-son, Gregory Giordano
and his wife, Nancy, of New Port Richie, FL. He is also survived by his eight
loving grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his
viewing on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Thursday,
December 3, 2009, from 8:15 to 9:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home,
800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954 and to his
Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Andrew, Newtown. Interment will take
place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
