Richard F. Oswalt Sr. of Buckingham Springs died peacefully on Saturday, November10, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was 84.

He was the beloved husband of Anne (Semmet) Oswalt for 63 years.

Born in Wabash, IN, he was the son of the late Vaughn W. and Ruth Hinckley Oswalt and brother of the late Barbara Ann Sickel.

Mr. Oswalt was a proud veteran of the Navy having served during World War II. Richard (Dick) was a car salesman for most of his career having sold Chevrolets at various dealerships. Since his retirement from auto sales, he has enjoyed working for the past 14 years at the Fred Beans dealerships with customers in the service department. In his leisure, Dick enjoyed creating everlasting memories with his family and friends, traveling, bowling, and making people laugh. He was known by friends and neighbors as a “social butterfly”. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his four children; Barbara Jones of Pineville, Richard F. Oswalt Jr. (Annmarie) of Allentown, PA,Nancy Oswalt of Middletown, PA, and Patti Walton (Kenneth) of Ottsville, PA. He is also survived by his brother Vaughn W. Oswalt Jr. (Jenny) of Howell, MI, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Dick’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 16, 2012, from10:00 A.M. until his Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Richard’s name to Doylestown Hospital, Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 or www.dh.org.

Dick’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 16, 2012, from10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901.
