Ruby Wells Angst, of Feasterville, died peacefully at her home with her family and friends by her side on Friday, February 17, 2012, after a courageous 7-year battle with breast cancer. She was 70.
She was the beloved wife for over 50 years of Bruce B. Angst. Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Luby and Alice Wells Lee, and sister of the late Joyce Bobbs. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1959, and the Rudmar School of Cosmetology in Philadelphia, and was a resident of Feasterville for the past 42 years.
Ruby was the first manager of the Strawbridge and Clothier Hair Salon in the Neshaminy Mall. She was the owner of Ruby Lee’s Beauty Parlor in Feasterville until her retirement. She was active in her community, serving as a Republican Committee Woman in Lower Southampton, and was a founding member of the Playwicki Farm Committee.
Through all of her peaks and valleys with breast cancer, Ruby never lost her spirit. She was focused on her family, especially her grandchildren, and always had a smile for them. An avid crafter she enjoyed working with ceramics, and especially working in her garden, which was a family tradition handed down from her parents. Ruby will be remembered for her beauty both inside and out, and for the kind word, smile, and generous heart she had for everyone.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, Joyce A. Lockyer and her husband Paul of St. Simons Island, Georgia, June A. Lewandowski and her husband Randall of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and James A. Angst and his wife Gina of Feasterville, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Lee and his wife Linda of North Carolina, and her 7 loving grandchildren: Alejandra, Stephanie, Victoria, Cassandra, Olivia, Wade and Maxwell.
Funeral Services and Interment were private.
Contributions in her memory may be made to Abington Hospice Warminster, 225 Newtown Rd. Warminster, PA 18974, Abington Cancer Center at 1200 Old York Road, Abington, Pa 19001.
