Dorothy M. Gill (Haws)

Dorothy M. Gill of Richboro, died peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2018, with her devoted daughter and son at her side at the Abramson Center for Jewish Life in North Wales. She was 85.

Born in Philadelphia, Dorothy was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Bruce H. Gill, who died in 2014. She was the daughter of the late Harry Haws Sr. and Emily Crane Haws and sister of the late Harry Haws Jr. and mother-in-law of the late Chuck Diehle.

Dorothy lived in Churchville for many years with Bruce and their 2 children. She was a graduate of Germantown High School, class of 1948. Bruce’s job took them to Detroit and St. Louis, MO. She was an active volunteer for Children’s Hospital and wherever they lived they made life long friends.

Dorothy and Bruce retired to Naples Fla, for the winter months and then to Mt. Laurel Jersey for the summers to be close to family. Dorothy and Bruce moved back to Richboro about 10 years ago. She had many friends at the Senior Center especially in her exercise class, which was followed by lunch. Dorothy was an active member of the Four Seasons book club and a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Ivyland.

Dorothy’s family meant everything to her; she was an outstanding mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Each of her grandchildren cherished time with their “Mom-Mom”. She will be remembered for her loving and caring ways and special Hugs.

Dorothy is survived by her dear children and their spouses Joyce A. Diehle, Bruce H. Gill Jr. and his wife Diane. She is also survived by her 4 dear grandchildren; Courtney Ganter (Bill), Ashley Emerick, Christopher Gill, Bradley Gill (Meghan) and the love of her life, her  great grandson Owen W. Ganter.

Dorothy’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 10:00am until her Funeral Service 11:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown–Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.   Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Richboro. 

In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Abramson Center for Jewish Life 1425 Horsham Rd. North Wales, PA 19454
