David G. McAleese Service Information

David McAleese of Buckingham died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown. He was 82.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Dr. James and Catherine Gallagher McAleese.

David was a resident of Bucks County since 1959 and resided in Buckingham Township. He is survived by his wife Antoinette“Toni” McAleese and his daughter JoDair McAleese and was preceded in death by son James A. McAleese II.

He was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and earned a Bachelor for Architecture and Masters of City Design (Planning) degree.

His extra-curricular interests include skiing, pen and ink architectural artwork, travel and cooking. David served on the Board of Directors for his children’s school and was active with his local church. His art commissions have included several historic buildings such as the Brick Hotel and the Temperance House in Newtown plus numerous residences in the area.

For over thirty years, David has accumulated expertise as a consultant to local governments, private landowners and developers, attorneys and fellow professionals – all in real estate matters. He has served as a municipal building inspector and had managed the day to day operations of a professional office park. David had lectured at the college level and co-authored a book on urban redevelopment. He had marketed publications and professional services. David wrote the original Historic District Regulations for “Edgewood Village” in Lower Makefield. He had worked with prominent civil engineering firm for ten years as coordinator of planning. David has done extensive environmental analysis including wetland delineation.

He was affiliated with the Prudential Preferred Properties in the Fall of 1991 and was responsible for listings, several referrals out of this area and company relocation service introductions to Philadelphia firms. He has taken and successfully completed both a company and a real estate board orientation course. David’s diverse but relevant background serves his clientele and the company well.

David finished his professional career in his 50’s due to a layoff closure of the company where he had worked and eventually worked through various positions as a cook for the Christ Home and Spring Mill Country Club before working in a factory until it was closed. He ended his working career at Doylestown Genuardi’s Supermarket where he was affectionately know as “Deli Dave”

He will be greatly missed.

Services and interment will be privately held by the family.
