Grace Margaret Freeman (Nielsen)

Grace “Margaret” Freeman of Newtown died peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Pickering Manor in Newtown. She was 97.

Born in Newark, NJ Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Stuart P. Freeman, loving mother of the late Karen Shropshire, and the daughter of the late Magnus and Dagny Nilsen Nielsen.

Margaret has been a resident of Newtown for over 40 years and had previously resided in Yardley.  She enjoyed Cooking and Baking, crocheting, gardening, playing cards with friends, but most of all Margaret cherished the times she spent creating memories with her family.  Margaret will be greatly missed but loved eternally as a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted children: Roy Freeman and his wife Toni of Baltimore, MD, Barry Freeman of Yardley, Robert Freeman and his wife Maureen of Fallsington, Stuart Freeman and his wife Gerda of Feasterville, and Janice Smith and her husband Richard of Newtown.  She is also survived by her 10 dear grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, May 25th from 9:00am until her Funeral service 11:00am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, Pa 18954.  Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.

Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Pickering Manor who over the past 3 years have become part of the family and also to Deb and Irene from Hospice for the love and care they gave. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Pickering Manor Home, 226 North Lincoln Avenue Newtown, PA 18940.
