Michael E. Maurer

Michael E. Maurer of Warwick went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. He was 58.

Mike was the loving husband of 34 years to Rev. Erin Antrim Maurer.

Born in Bethlehem PA, he was the son of Suzanne Toth Maurer and the late Michael Maurer.

Mike graduated in 1977 from Freedom High School in Bethlehem, where as a senior where he earned the distinction of first chair in percussion in State Band. In 1983 he received a bachelor’s degree in Music Merchandising from Mansfield University. Mike’s love and dedication to music led him in 1991 to establish and continuously direct the Southampton Music Company. He was formerly an active member of the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra, played occasionally with the Southampton Band, and he has been a dedicated drummer in Beacon, the worship band at Chalfont United Methodist Church. Mike’s life was dedicated to the joy of bringing music into the lives of others, and he will forever be remembered by those who have had the pleasure and opportunity to have been in his life and loved by him.

In addition to his beloved wife Erin and loving daughter Elizabeth Maurer of Lancaster, Mike is survived by his mother Suzanne Toth Maurer of Bethlehem, his sister and brother-in-law Lori Fritz and Randy and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anda Johnson and Lyle. He is also survived by his niece Jennifer Fritz and his nephews John Fritz, and Donnan and Nevan Coyne

Mike’s family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 8:30am until his Funeral Service 10:00 am at Chalfont United Methodist Church, 11 Meadowbrook Lane Chalfont, PA 18914.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Chalfont United Methodist Church at the aforementioned address or to Abington-Jefferson Hospital Hospice, 225 Newtown Rd. Warminster, PA 18974.
