Elizabeth P. Finnegan (Prato)

Elizabeth Prato “Betty” Finnegan of Southampton passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home. She was 74.

Betty was the loving and devoted wife of John P. “Jack” Finnegan with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. 

Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Baptist and Concetta Cafagna Prato.

Betty was a graduate of Frankford High School and went on to earn her Associate’s degree from Bucks County Community College. A resident of Southampton for 46 years, she was the founder of Project Children of Bucks County and served as the coordinator for many years.  She also worked for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit as an administrative assistant.  She was also passionate about her family’s lineage and had become an accomplished genealogist over the years. 

Elizabeth was most proud of her family and treasured spending time with her loving husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her siblings.  She will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her husband, Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Patricia Gardyan (Frank) and Kathleen Finnegan (Kyle); her grandchildren, Kyle Gardyan, Ciara Gardyan, Kayla Maahs, Dominic Rousset, and Justin Maahs; her sister, Mary Grace Prato; her sister-in-law, Joyce Danks Prato; and her brother-in-law, Frank Lupo. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Carmine Prato, and Roseanna Lupo. 

Relatives and friends are invited to express condolences on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA 18966.  Her interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.   

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd., Ste. 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
