Carol J. Woltemate

Carol J. Havens Woltemate, 84, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Doylestown Hospital. She was the wife to the late Lloyd E. Woltemate.

Born September 19, 1939 in Fort Edward, NY, she was the only child of the late Lionel J. and Myrtle E. Miller Havens. Carol's family moved to Hudson Falls, NY when she was 10 years old and she graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1957. As a teenager she owned two horses and was an accomplished equestrian. Later Carol attended Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY and earned her 3 year nursing degree in 1960. She married Dr. Wendell S. Arrington Jan 22nd 1961 and later moved to Doylestown, PA in 1965, where she raised her 4 children. Carol worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) for various nursing homes as well as Abington Hospital, and became the Director of Nursing at Neshaminy Manor of Bucks County, Warrington, PA working there for many years. She played the violin in the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra for 30 years and was also given special recognition for her volunteer crisis prevention work at TeleHelp.

After her marriage to Lloyd Woltemate in 1983, the couple owned and managed Woltemate Associates, Inc., Doylestown, PA . They enjoyed vacationing in Key West, Florida and traveling on various cruise lines until Lloyd's passing in 2000. 

Carol had many cats over the course of her life that she cared for and loved. She resided in her Doylestown home for 69 years and enjoyed the neighborhood, her community, and spending time with loved ones. Her daughter Teri lived with her and took special care that Carol remained active and was comfortable in her own home.

Carol is survived by her children, Judy Morrise and her husband Matthew of Portland, OR, Michael Arrington (West Point Graduate) and his wife Sherri of Geismar, LA, Teri Arrington and her partner Jim Hughes of Doylestown, Patty Eckert and her husband Rob of East Windsor, NJ; grandchildren, Amanda Winters (Jordan), Jessica Wise (Jordan), Martha Morrise, Isaac Morrise, William Arrington, Matthew Arrington, Lucas Eckert; great-grandchildren, Claire Winters, Colin Wise, and Aubrey Wise.

A viewing for Carol will be held on Tuesday, February 20th from 10:00am until services begin at 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. Services will be conducted by Father Shane Flanagan . Interment will take place immediately following the services at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler.
