Michael A. Becker Jr.

Michael (Mike) A. Becker, Jr., 86, of Southampton, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Lee (Finocchiaro) Becker and the late Barbara Weber.

Born March 22, 1937, in Canastota, NY, he was a son of the late Michael A. and Sarah E. (Sykes) Becker, Sr.

Mike, known as “Pop or Poppie,” to most of the family, had a contagious sense of humor. There was never a dull moment when he was around.

Before moving to Pennsylvania in 1968, he worked in the drop hammer room at Oneida Ltd. for several years and was active with the Canastota Fire Department. He also coached Little League. In Pennsylvania he worked at Daily Manufacturing until his retirement. He coached and was a director with Upper Moreland Little League and coached with the Willow Grove Yellow Jackets for several years. Later he enjoyed going to Wesley College in Dover DE to watch his grandson play football and attend golf outings. He loved bowling, fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, golf and was an avid fan of Syracuse University and the Philadelphia Flyers. He enjoyed his trips (back home) to upstate New York and the Jersey shore however, he was most dedicated to and loved spending time with his immediate family.

Mike is survived by his four children, Douglas Becker (Elaine), Concetta Strain (Ronald), Cathy Becker Stenderowicz, and Michael A. Becker III; 10 grandchildren, Chris, Tim, Joey, Andrea, Melissa, Daniel, AJ, Stephen, Nick, and Devin; 12 great-grandchildren, Lyla, Hunter, Emily, Carter, Sammie, Addi, Trinity, Austin, Ellie, Summer, Avery, Ella, and Brynn; two siblings, Stephen Becker (Michelle) and Susan Spencer; a step-son, Mark (Renee) Weber; daughters-in-law, Dee Becker and Sharon Weber; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his four siblings, Peter, Nancy, Robert, and Timothy, a son, Scott, granddaughters Caitlin and Jessica Fowler, and great-grandson Andrew Gahagan.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family March 9, 2024, from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain. Interment will be at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
