Michael P. Donohue

Michael P. Donohue, 62, of Aston, PA passed away on Monday February 26, 2024 of natural causes while in Colorado on a skiing trip. Michael left this world leaving behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and a life rich in accomplishments and relationships.

Born on September 1, 1961, in Philadelphia, to the late John J. and Margaret Callahan Donohue. A graduate of Archbishop Wood High School in 1979. Michael decided to go right into the family business at Mohawk Electric, a distributor in the electrical supply industry. After acquired he found a home at Suburban Wholesale Lighting where he continued his project management career as an accountable and well-respected person within the industry.

During his early years at Archbishop Wood Michael played football as a defensive back in which he played in the 1978 championship game at Veterans Stadium. Michael also ran track in which his 440-relay team qualified for the Penn Relays at Franklin Field.

In 1994, Michael married the love of his life, Joan Bradley, and together they built a family and a home that was a haven of love and laughter. Their union was blessed by two children, Lauren, and Sean. Michael’s role as a family man was one he cherished above all others.

Michael’s life was rich with love. He was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, coach, and colleague to many. His love for his family, Sea Isle City, NJ, coaching, and skiing was unlike any other.

As a coach Michael touched many lives in a positive way. He coached the Northampton Indians (Football), Northampton Raiders (Football), Brookhaven Jets (Football), Aston AA Bandits (Football, Wrestling, Lacrosse), Media Youth (Wrestling) and more throughout his long coaching carrier. Michael was a figure his young athletes would look up to and feel comfortable coming to with anything they may need both on and off the field.

Michael was a proud member of the self-proclaimed “dance dads” where if he wasn’t cheering from his seat in the audience at competitions he would always enjoy being involved in the rehearsals, prop building, stage crew, traveling and being a helping hand however he could. Michael would always make it clear that he was only a phone call away if he was not already in the building.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife Joan (nee Bradley); his children, Lauren Donohue and Sean Donohue (Melanie); His siblings,  Margaret Rappo (Rick), Kevin Donohue (Mary), Colleen Foti (Frank), Kathy Munsch (Michael), John Donohue (Michele), and Sue Donohue; His father-in-law, Edward Bradley (Mary Lou), and Mother-in-law Joan Bradley; Sisters-in-law, Denise George (Robert), Lisa Conner (Jeff), Eileen George (Eric); as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.

Michael’s life was a beacon of how to live life with purpose and love. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will be a comfort to all who knew him. His warmth, wisdom, and the joy he brought to every gathering will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
