Nancy Ann Orlando

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Zimmer Orlando, 81, of Philadelphia, wife to her late husband, Richard G. Orlando, Sr. for 65 years. Nancy was a beacon of warmth and love, whose vibrant spirit and unwavering devotion to family left a lasting mark on all who knew her. Nancy went to be with the angels on February 27th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 19th, 1942 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Zimmer and Florence Holden Zimmer. Nancy embarked on her professional journey as a shampoo girl at a local, family-owned beauty salon, where she worked alongside her beloved sister. Together, they shared laughter and camaraderie, forming an inseparable bond as they attended to the needs of their clients. Nancy's warm smile and gentle touch made her a favorite among patrons, while her dedication to her craft earned her respect within the salon community. Her time at the salon not only honed her skills but also deepened her appreciation for the artistry of beauty and the importance of human connection.

Known affectionately as "Racecar" by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Nancy's life was defined by her deep love for her family, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Nancy was a devoted supporter, finding joy in watching her grandchildren play ice hockey, and her heart swelled with pride at their every triumph and achievement.

Nancy's creative spirit shone brightly through her passion for floral design, earning her several awards for her exquisite arrangements. She also found joy in crocheting, weaving warmth and love into countless blankets for family, friends, and charities.

An avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, Nancy's enthusiasm for sports knew no bounds, and she reveled in attending baseball games with her loved ones. Her fondness for Philadelphia sports extended beyond the diamond, embodying the spirit of the city's sports culture. Additionally, Nancy was a devoted Chevy car lover, often found admiring classic models and sharing stories of her fondness for cars with family and friends.

A lover of literature and collector of treasures, Nancy found solace in the pages of books and the beauty of her jewelry collection. Her appreciation for nature brought her peace and serenity amidst life's busyness. Additionally, Nancy held a special place in her heart for Walt Disney World, where she found pure joy and wonder in the magic of the beloved theme park, creating cherished memories with her family.

Nancy's presence brought light and laughter to every gathering, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nancy is survived by her siblings, Bobbie Gresko-Miller and Richard Zimmer (Patti); children, Richard G. Orlando, Jr. and his wife Karen of Ivyland, Kenneth Orlando Sr. and his wife Jeannine of Chalfont, Tracy Orlando of Gettysburg; grandchildren, Christopher Orlando (Megan), Matthew Orlando (Kelsey), the late Kelly Orlando, Michael Orlando (Sarah Elizabeth), Kenneth Orlando, Jr. (Amanda), Sean Orlando (Ansley), Danielle Orlando, and Keith Orlando; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Finley and Jack; grand-furbabies, Molly, Cash$, and Ariele.
