Michael J. Penta Jr.

Michael J Penta Jr., of Doylestown, PA, died peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Center for Jewish Life in North Wales, PA. He was 91 years old.

Michael was the loving husband of the late Faith Cassin Penta. The couple had shared 29 years of friendship and love when Faith passed in 2017.

Born in Mount Vernon, NY, Michael was the son of the late Dr. Michael J and Gertrude Burrous Penta. He is the grandfather of the late Cooper Logan Penta.

He grew up in Reading, PA, and graduated from Yale University in 1956 with a degree in Economics. After college he spent 3 years in the Air Force as a Navigator, earning the rank of Captain when he was discharged in 1959. He went on to get his MBA from The Wharton School, graduating in 1960. In 1967 he founded Winterhouse Furniture, a custom cabinetry build and design house, which is still in operation today in the hands of his son, Michael J Penta, III.

Michael is survived by his children; Elizabeth Logan Penta and Michael J Penta, III and his wife Melisa Kauffman Penta, his grandson; Leo Townes Heywood, his stepchildren; Gregory E. Davis and Cynthia D. Magee and her husband Richard D. Magee, Jr., and his ex-wife; Carolyn L. Penta.

Funeral Services will take place privately.

Memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s memory, to Alzheimer’s Association at 225 North Michigan Avenue; Floor 17 in Chicago, IL 60601.
