Regina McGowan (Morrison)

On Friday March 1, 2024, Regina McGowan (neé Morrison), of Richboro, PA, passed away peacefully. She was 98 years young.

Born in Philadelphia on March 31, 1925, Regina was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. McGowan, daughter of the late George and Bertha (Morgan) Morrison, and mother of the late Timothy M. McGowan. She is also pre-deceased by her daughter-in-law, Eileen Phelan McGowan and her seven siblings, Bertha Dempsey, George Morrison, Ann Ziff, Catherine DeBow, Marie Tarnowski, Joseph Morrison and Rita Morrison.

Regina was a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan High School for Girls, class of 1943. Upon graduation, she began her professional career at the Philadelphia Naval Depot where she met the love of her life.  After marrying Tom, she left the workforce to raise her family. In 1960; she began working for the Internal Revenue Service as an auditor until her retirement in 1988.

Regina is survived by her three children, Regina McGinley and her husband Pat, Thomas F. McGowan, and Kathleen Argiroff and her husband Alex. Her 11 grandchildren, Jeanmarie, Kelly, Patrick, Keith, Timothy, Alison, Maureen, Alexandra, Caitlin, Christian, and Kristina, and her 24 great grandchildren, were a constant source of pride. She was also survived by her sister Therese Morrison.

Regina was a woman of Faith, Fortitude and Integrity. She was devoted to God, her Family and our Country. She was happiest enjoying her favorite things in life - her home in Ocean City, NJ, the company of her countless loved ones, and engaging in spirited conversation about our country's challenges and triumphs. You could also count on a walk down the boardwalk, any ball game and a little game of chance to make her smile.
Regina was proud to pass forward the values and life lessons she learned as part of The Greatest Generation - dignity, humility, hard work, selflessness, family and faith. These are evidenced within every one of her family members.

Regina’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday March 8, 2024 at St. Andrew Catholic Church 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
