Janet Lynn Lucidi (Hunter)

Janet Lynn Lucidi, of Holland, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by the immense love of her family. She was 80 years old.

For 57 years, Janet was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Lucidi (Tony). Together they  built an exceptional life for themselves and their children, and they exemplified true love and devotion throughout all the ups and downs they faced. Janet was a fantastic and supportive mother to her kids and easily became their best friend as they grew into adults. Later, she heroically cared for Tony through the last, challenging years of his life. Unwavering, she remained a positive, independent, and mighty force until the end.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Janet was the youngest of three children. Her parents Joseph and Lucy Montanaro Hunter and older brother Joseph Hunter precede her in death, as do her in-laws, Anthony and Margaret Lucidi. She leaves behind her loving sister Judy Thompson and caring niece Karen Reed.

During her married life, Janet worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill, and later at Beth Israel Nursery School in Northfield, NJ. After retiring, she and Tony enjoyed their snowbird status, spending winters at their Bonita Springs, FL, home.

The epitome of a true friend, Janet embodied a kindness and warmth that radiated to all who knew her. From Northeast Philly, to Holland, PA, to Longport, NJ, to Bonita Springs, FL, and beyond, many of her friendships have endured for decades; she never took those she loved for granted.

In addition to her devastated relatives and friends, Janet will be missed tremendously by her loving children, Anthony Lucidi, Gerard “Gerry” and Melissa Lucidi, and Megan and Lukas Okoniewski. She will be remembered by her Grandchildren who adored her, Nicholas and Caroline, Sophia, Madelynn, Danielle, AJ, and Julia.

Friends and relatives are invited to greet Janet’s family on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 10:00 am until the start of her Funeral Mass, 12:00 pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA 18940. Her interment will take place privately at Resurrection Cemetery.
