Barbara A. Duffy (Cullerton)

Barbara A. Duffy (nee Cullerton) passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024 at the age of 80.

She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Duffy.  They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.  Daughter of the late James and Anna (Federchok) Cullerton, Barbara was born and raised in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.  She graduated from Little Flower High School and still enjoyed getting together with her “sorority” girlfriends.

Barbara dedicated her life to raising her four children and teaching them life’s core values, the importance of family and a sense of fun.  She loved family get togethers and holidays, fun times and laughs with her friends, the beach, and the sun – the tanner, the better!

Nothing brought Barbara greater joy than her eight grandchildren.  Nana loved special times and sleepovers with her grandchildren.  Her beautiful smile only grew brighter when she was with them, shared a laugh with them or could simply give them a hug.  She was proud of each of them and considered herself incredibly blessed to be their Nana.

Barbara was predeceased by her son, Bob, with whom she has at long last been reunited.  She is survived by her children Tim Duffy and his wife Jill of Washington Crossing, PA, Barbara Browne of Doylestown, PA, and Peter Duffy and his wife Jeannine of Doylestown, PA, and her eight grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, Caitlin, James, Owen, Mimi, Will and Maura.  She is also survived by her sister Anne Acosta (Fred) of Arizona, her brother Jim Cullerton (Mary Ann) of Georgia, her sister Carol Cullerton, S.S.J., her brothers and sisters in-law, and dozens of nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished.

The family would like to thank the nurses and other caregivers at Jefferson Health-Lansdale Hospital and Crossroads Hospice who provided her dignified care in her final illness.

Barbara’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until her Funeral Prayer Service 11:00 a.m. in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. Interment to follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Saint Joseph Guild, P.O. Box 36, Flourtown, PA 19031-0036 (or https://ssjphila.org/support-our-mission/donate/) or Heart of Healthcare Nursing-Jefferson Lansdale Hospital (https://giving.jefferson.edu/giving-guide/give/heart-of-healthcare.html).
