Catherine Green

Catherine W. Green (Corey) of Langhorne, Pa. passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at her side.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John Green; daughter Corey and her close friend, Steve Gordon of Lebanon County, Pa., sister Betty Gross (Edward) of Sarasota, Fl. and her three beloved grandchildren Meckenzie, Kyle and Kamren.

Cath was born in St. Louis, Mo. in 1950 to the late Winthrop R. and Jennie (Harrison) Corey and was predeceased by her dear brother “Wink” Corey. Additional survivors include sisters in law Nickie Green of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Judy Estes of Chesapeake, Va., nieces Cathy Galindo of Sarasota, Fl., Julie Hodgson of Royal Oak, Mi., Elizabeth Defanti of Bozeman, Mt., and Cathy Rodgers of Elizabeth City, N.C., nephews Christopher Corey of Barrington, R.I., Brett Green of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Matthew Estes of Centreville, Va.

Cath was a 1968 graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis, Mo. and a 1972 graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Ia. where she earned her B.A. in Spanish. While at Drake she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.

She and John enjoyed traveling and playing golf. She also very much enjoyed gardening and nature but “G.G’s” passions were her love of birds and by far, her three grandchildren whom she knows will continue to brighten the world as they brightened her.

The entire Green family extend their deepest thanks to the nurses, aides and staff of the Oncology Unit at The St. Mary Medical Center who cared and comforted Cath with extraordinary competence and compassion in her final days.

Cath was much loved and will be forever missed.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation followed by a celebration of Cath's life at 11:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at The Washington Crossing Inn, 1295 General Washington Memorial Boulevard Washington Crossing PA, 18977. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of support in Cath’s name to the Penn Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
