Elaine H. Becker (Hartman)

Elaine H. Becker (Hartman) after a long and courageous health battle, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 11, with her family by her side. She was a lifelong resident of Jamison, where she and her husband, Doug Becker, of 47 years, raised their two sons, Chris (Caroline) and Tim (Stacey). “Honey” as she was known by her grandchildren, Lyla, Hunter, Carter, and Austin was always close by and greatly enjoyed all of the time that she was able to spend with each of them. She loved to host movie nights for her grandkids and roast marshmallows out on the bonfire. As a mom and grandmom, she will be remembered as being stubborn but always a fighter. She endured many physical challenges over the years but always worked through them to take care of herself. She will be greatly missed but remembered fondly by all as a genuine and caring person.

Elaine graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Elementary education. As a stay-at-home mom, Elaine was able to enjoy great involvement in her children’s activities such as being a Cub Scout leader, a team mom, and a home room mom. As her children grew up, she spent time working as a substitute teacher and then found her long term career as the zoning clerk at Warwick Township. Her connection to the community, growing up locally and knowing the history of the area, allowed her to create meaningful and enjoyable connections with new and existing community members.

Elaine enjoyed various hobbies over the years like crafting, making scrap books and party and wedding planning at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jamison where she was a life-long member. She delighted in creating keepsake gifts for friends and family.  For many years, one of her favorite things was writing in calligraphy and perfect penmanship. She was self-taught and had beautiful handwriting. She took great pride in her work and spent numerous hours addressing invitations for friends. There are many envelopes that have been saved over the years because they were just too fancy to toss.

Elaine is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Lightfoot and Wendi (James) Lanham. She was predeceased by her brothers Lewis (Kathy) Hartman and Keith Moyer. She leaves behind a family full of loving and supportive sisters-in-law, Jetta Strain, Cathy Stenderowicz and Dee Becker, brother-in-law Mike Becker, nieces, nephews, and many, many more.
