Fluehr History

In 1976, Joseph A. Fluehr III and his wife Christine combined their resources and talents and established a funeral home in Richboro, Bucks County, PA. Mr. and Mrs. Fluehr set out to create a family owned business, based on trust, believing that they could provide a valuable service to their community.

The original funeral home is located on Route 332 between Richboro and Newtown, where it has provided a comfortable and peaceful setting for grieving families for over twenty-six years. During this time, the Fluehr family has served the families of Lower Bucks County with a long history of personal service and professional standards.

The concept, which was conveyed from the mind of Mr. Fluehr to the hand of the architect, evolved into the premiere Funeral Home in Lower Bucks County. They worked together to design a facility that would meet the needs of the bereaved as well as the needs of the community. The focus of the building has always been on the family and friends attending the funerals, and this has been achieved. The home also provides full access for the handicapped and elderly, and easily accommodates large groups of people.

After the Funeral Home was completed, it not only met, but exceded all expectations of Mr. Fluehr, his wife and the community. The 15-acre, partially wooded grounds have provided a peaceful and picturesque setting for all the families and friends who come to bid their farewells and to begin their healing process.

It should also be noted that the Fluehrs have incorporated several amenities in their funeral home that sets it apart from the others. They have incorporated a private sitting room and bathroom, conveniently located in the front of the visitation room, for the grieving families. Specifically, this area provides families with a place to take a personal break in complete privacy. As for parking, with the abundant property available, there is enough space to handle the largest of gatherings. The Funeral Home facilities are located on one floor with no steps to navigate. There is a carport to drop off loved ones and enough seating in the main parlor for family and friends to feel comfortable during the funeral service.

Believing so strongly in helping families through the healing process, the Fluehrs have expanded to a new funeral home in New Britain, just outside of Doylestown. The new facility has all the amenities of the original location as well as some new ones they’ve included based on their many years of experience.

The newer location has two large viewing rooms, a private sitting room and bathroom for the families, and spacious parking for large services. Guests are welcome to visit the meditation path and garden where they may wander, deposit ashes, or take a moment for silent prayer. Both viewing rooms, the meditation garden and the wooded surroundings provide grieving families and friends a beautiful place to say goodbye.

Most importantly, both locations will provide you with the best personal care and professional service from Joseph A. Fluehr III, Joseph A. Fluehr IV, and their highly trained staff.
