Irma Theresa Plassa (Pontarelli)

Irma Theresa Pontarelli Plassa of Yardley, PA died peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family on February 10, 2019. She was 78.

Born in Philadelphia, Theresa was the beloved wife of 56 years to Michael J. Plassa and the daughter of the late Guerino and Elvira Giannini Pontarelli.

Theresa’s career as a Medical Sales Specialist spanned many years but her proudest role was as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed tending to her plants, cultivating vegetables and herbs that she would use in her traditional Italian cooking, preparing feasts for her family, and having her whole family together at the table. Theresa took great pride in her children and especially in her grandsons. She felt proud and fortunate to be so actively engaged in their lives from birth through college. Theresa will be greatly missed but eternally loved by everyone who had the pleasure to have been loved by her.

In addition to her beloved husband Michael, Theresa is survived by her loving and devoted children: Michael D. Plassa and his wife Jody of Yardley, Stephanie Plassa and her life partner Victoria Hunt of Yardley, and Thomas Plassa and his wife Ina of Morrisville. She is also survived by her cherished grandsons Michael and Daniel Plassa, dear granddog Cherry, her brother Dominic Pontarelli, her sisters Elise DiPlacido and Rita Piccone.

Services and interment for Theresa conducted privately at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org: DONATE BY CLICKING HERE) or to Justice Rescue (http://www.justice-rescue.com/).
