Patricia J. Steffa (Donohoe)

Patricia J. Steffa, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, was brought home to the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age of 86.

Born in North Philadelphia on November 2, 1932, Patricia spent most of her life in Juniata Park and Northeast Philadelphia. She was the third daughter born to Eugene and Margaret (nee Higgins) Donohoe and loved being a part of a large family with her 8 siblings. In 1952, she married her beloved husband, the late George Steffa, and together they raised five children before his untimely death in 1977: Kevin, Patrick, Joseph, Marianne and Thomas Steffa. In addition to George, she was predeceased in death by Tommy (1982) and Rick (2014) and is survived by her children: Kevin and wife Cecilia (nee Mullin), daughter-in-law Diane (nee Pellegrini), Joseph and wife Catherine (nee Barry), and Marianne and husband Kevin McVey.  She is also survived by sisters Mary (nee Donohoe) Hauser and Kate (nee Donohoe) Cantwell, her 14 loving grandchildren, and 17 precious great grandchildren.

Patricia was a woman of unwavering faith and followed in the footsteps of our Lord. She was known for her quick wit and boundless strength and was endlessly generous and giving of herself to others. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and being an accomplished seamstress. Most of all she cherished being a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. After the sudden death of her husband George, Patricia carried on with grace and resilience. She sustained Steffa Metals, the business started by her husband, and continued to raise her children. When her sons took over the business, Patricia retired and went on to enjoy spending her winters in Naples, Florida and summers in Sea Isle City, New Jersey – a special place where she started vacationing in the 1940s.

Patricia brought light to all those she met and was friends with so many around her. During the last year and a half, she developed many friendships with the residents and staff members of Neshaminy Manor in Warrington, PA. Patricia will be greatly missed, but her memory will be eternally cherished by everyone who had the sincere pleasure to know and love her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, April 25 from 5:00-8:00 pm and Friday, April 26 from 9:00-10:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. All are also invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday, April 26 at 10:30 am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
