Marilyn Mary Maurer (Williams)

Marilyn (Mar) Maurer of Warminster, PA died on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at her home in Warminster. She was 72 years old.

She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Robert Maurer.

Born in Hazelton, Luzerne County, PA, she was the younger of two children to the late Howard (Reds) Williams and Gertrude Williams of Southampton PA. She attended William Tennent High School and graduated in 1966. After graduation from high school, Marilyn worked as a secretary for the electrical union. Through a mutual friend, Marilyn met the love of her life and future husband, Robert (Bob) Maurer Sr. They were married in 1969 in Southampton PA.  After residing in a few places, they ended up buying a house in Southampton in 1972. In 1986, they would end up moving to Warminster PA where they would be together until the passing of Marilyn on December 17th.

Marilyn spent her young adult years raising two children, Nicole L Brinkmann and Robert J Maurer Jr. After the children were in their later years, she pursued a job that would have purpose and be able to use her skillset. Marilyn’s friendly and professional demeanor led her to a career as a legal secretary and hired by Gerald L Bowen Sr. Esq.  She would continue to work for Gerald until his retirement in 1997. Marilyn would then go on to work for Gerald L Bowen Jr. Esq., the managing partner of Bowen & Burns law firm, until getting sick in the summer of 2020. During her tenure as a legal secretary, Marilyn had various responsibilities with coordinating, organizing and maintaining the office and later focused on wills and estate planning.

Marilyn’s hobbies and interests included spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and her beloved four-legged pets. She always looked forward to having a glass of wine and a dinner out on a Saturday night with Bob and friends. Marilyn loved a good shopping trip to Kohl’s and enjoyed day trips to NY to see Broadway shows. Marilyn, along with Bob, travelled the world extensively whether by plane or cruise ship and loved to retreat to their shore house in Ocean City, MD.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Robert J Maurer Sr. and two children, Nicole L Brinkmann of Harleysville PA and Robert J Maurer Jr. of Abington PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Mackenzie Brinkmann, Riley Brinkmann, Dylan Brinkmann, Hannah Maurer and Morgan Maurer.
