Joan S. O'Toole (Doebley)

Joan S. O’Toole of Morrisville died peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 with her family by her side at home.  She was 84.

Joan was the loving wife of the late Harry J. O’Toole.

Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Florence E. Derrickson Doebley and mother of the late Daniel P. O’Toole.

Joan led a long career in electronics manufacturing, having risen to the role of Production Manager during her tenure.  She was extremely devoted to her career and set a fine example for her family when it came to work ethic and commitment to one’s career.  When Harry was alive the two enjoyed travelling all over together, especially weekends with friends down the shore.  They also treasured the countless friendships they nurtured during their residency in the Village at Neshaminy Falls in North Wales.

Most of all Joan will be remembered as a consummate host, always entertaining, be it pool parties and picnics or family holidays.  For her, family came first and she stood by them no matter what.  She was determined and always knew what she wanted and worked hard to get it and she was never afraid to say what was on her mind.  She will be dearly missed by the many whose lives she touched.

Surviving are her children, Patricia "Patty" A. O'Toole of Morrisville, Bryan M. O'Toole and his wife, Lisa of Sun City, AZ, and Harry J. O'Toole, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Ambler;  her siblings, Mary Sundermeier, Pickles Doebley and her husband Tom Coxhead, and Kay Kaiser. She also leaves behind her Five Grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren, and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn O’Toole.

In addition to her husband, parents, and her son, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Jack Doebley and her sister Cookie Briggs.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. ignatius of Antioch Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA 19067.  Her interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life St. Mary, 2500 Northgate Dr., Trevose, PA 19053.
