James P. Mulligan
James P. Mulligan of Warminster died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Pine Run Health Center. He was 85.
James was the loving and devoted husband of Dorothy O. Dahlquist Mulligan. They were married at St Catherine's church in Glenview, IL on October 26, 1963, and shared 57 years of marriage together.
Born in Windom, MN he was the son of the late Francis and Esther Snyder Mulligan.
James joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 20 and while there studied avionics and became an avionics electrician. He later met Dorothy and the two would end up sharing a lifetime of love and family together. His military career spanned 20 years and he served in Vietnam two times. His time in the Marines would also lead his family to live all across the country including North and South Carolina, Hawaii, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Temple University where he studied full time during the day while working a full time job at night.
Jim would lead a long career as an accountant, retiring in 2006.
Jim enjoyed camping with his sons in the Boy Scouts. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed trips to Cape May, NJ and camping trips with his family. He liked to go to the zoo. They also enjoyed trips to museums of all kinds, both Disney Land and Disney World and road trips all up and down the east coast.
Most of all Jim will be remembered as a steadfast family man and excellent provider, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Jim leaves behind his sons, James Mulligan II of Warminster, John Mulligan and his wife, Zina, of King of Prussia; his siblings, Robert Mulligan and his wife, Mary Jean; John Mulligan (late Dolores); William Mulligan and his wife, Mary Lou; Michael Mulligan; and his sister Rosemarie Moerke and her husband, Dale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Donald, and Eugene Mulligan and Carol Van Orden.
Jim’s services and interment will be held privately and he will be buried with military honors in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
