Johann A. Joebstl

Johann A. Joebstl of Wyncote died Monday, February 8, 2021 at Willowbrooke Court at Normandy Farms Estates.  He was 93.

Johann was the husband of the late Erika Kibal Joebstl.

Born in Austria, he was the son of the late Johann Joebstl and Margarete Lechner Joebstl.

Johann came to the United States in 1958 for what was to only be a one year stay.  However, he quickly became rooted in his career here and would ultimately remain here for the rest of his life.  He led a long career as a Physical Chemist and worked for the Government, his work playing a part in the development of electric vehicles.

Johann had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading as well as music and going for walks outside.  He was a devoted father who was faced with being a single father a young age, but ensured his daughter Barbara had everything she needed. He will be dearly missed.

Johann is survived by his daughter, Barbara Joebstl and her husband, Terence of Wyncote; his grandchildren, Timothy and Sarah McAuliffe; and his siblings, Heintz Steinbauer, Grete Steinbauer, and Martha Muskatelz, all of Austria.

Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Ancillae-Assumpta Academy 2025 Church Road, Wyncote, PA 19095.
