Jack D. Leber
Jack D. Leber, of Doylestown, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 75 years old.
Jack was the loving husband of Ellen P. Leber. The couple shared 35 years of family, laughter, love and friendship.
Born in Perkasie, PA to Robert and Alma Stauffer Leber, Jack was a lifelong resident of Bucks County.
Jack received a Master of Science in Chemistry from Temple University. He retired from GlaxoSmithKline in 2008, where he enjoyed a successful 25-year career in medicinal chemistry research. Jack was always proud of his work contributing to the discovery of new antibiotics and cancer-fighting drugs.
Jack enjoyed RC modeling throughout his life and was an active and beloved member of several area RC flying clubs where he will be greatly missed. He loved spending time in nature; gardening, biking, walking his dog, and spending time with his grandchildren. He taught himself guitar and piano at an early age and passed that passion onto his children and grandchildren, through his makeshift basement recording studio, weekly lessons and eclectic musical taste. There was never a problem that Jack Leber couldn’t solve and always made himself available to help his children. He approached all endeavors in life with curiosity, kindness, and love. He accepted everyone exactly as they were without expectation and provided unwavering support to his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Jack touched the lives of everyone he met in a deep and genuine way, leaving them better for having known him.
In addition to his wife Ellen, Jack will be missed tremendously by his children, Jack Dylan Leber, Erin Leber (Sean Wegeler), Amber Cross (Jason Cross) and Sarah Weckerly (Jason Weckerly); and by his grandchildren, Anna, Jack, Emily, Sean, Henry, Elliot, Leanna, Jack, Nate and Ellie. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Leber (Kathy) and Dennis Leber (Linda).
Funeral services and burial took place privately.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff of the Interventional Unit and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of Doylestown Hospital. He received the highest quality of care from all members of the devoted, kind and attentive team who went above and beyond to provide gentle, loving care for Jack and his family.
