Joseph P. Walsh III

Joseph P. Walsh III of Blooming Glen died Monday, March 22, 2021 at Doylestown Hospital.  He was 72.

Joseph was the loving husband of the late Catherine Moore Walsh.

Born in Philadelphia, he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Joseph P. Jr., and Elsie Gulli Walsh and his brother, the late Michael D. Walsh.

Joseph graduated from George Washington High School and went on to lead a long career as an Iron Worker with Union Local 401 out of Philadelphia.    Following retirement, he continued to work as a Realtor for many years with RE/MAX and Long and Foster in Doylestown, and was a long-standing member of the Montgomery County Board of Realtors.  Joseph also worked as a cook for St. Jude Parish in Chalfont making dinner each evening for the priests. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Joseph was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends on the water fishing, skiing, or at the beach and loved to play the game, backgammon with his best friend Bill, and his cousin, Joe.  His nickname was Poncho.  He was also a huge fan of all Philadelphia sports, enjoyed music, cooking, and was always up for a good time.  Joseph also liked to make it known that whatever the situation, or wherever he may be, he will always be “the boss”.

Above all else, his family was the most important thing to him, and he will be greatly and sorrowfully missed.  Joseph is survived by children, Tina Walsh-Wilson and Scott, of Bedminster, Catherine (Kate) Lorenzon and her husband, Justin, of Warminster, and Joseph P. Walsh IV; his grandchildren, Scotty & Nicholas Wilson and Jordan & Elycia Lorenzon; and his brother, Steven Walsh of Bedminster.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad St., Hilltown, PA 18927.  His interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Recovery & Hope Addiction Resources, c/o Catholic Social Services of Philadelphia, 222 N. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
