Ervin G. Hohnstock Jr.
Ervin G. “Erv” Hohnstock, Jr. of Southampton died on Friday, May 28, 2021 surrounded by his loving family following a brief cancer battle at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 69.
Ervin was the loving husband of Victoria Zurybida Hohnstock with whom he had shared just shy of 30 years of marriage, love, and family.
Born in Ridley Park, PA, he was the son of the late Ervin G. Sr. and Florence Pauza Hohnstock.
Ervin was immensely proud of having served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam and went on to lead a 33-year career as a postal carrier with the United States Postal Service until his retirement.
One of Erv’s true passions was golf and in retirement he not only found time to play but also found part time work as a Golf Ranger for Bucks County Country Club where he ensured that golfers were keeping proper pace of play and were following the rules. He quickly became a beloved fixture there. Erv was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers fan and he enjoyed bowling and reading the sports page daily.
Most of all, Erv will be remembered for his quick wit and zingers that he could dole out with no effort at all. He made his family his first priority and had an especially important place in his heart for his grandchildren, who even towards the end of his life made him perk up and beam with pride. He will be missed as a kind and gentle soul to all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Erv leaves behind his children, Victoria Palaia and her husband, Martin McNamee of Phoenixville, Tina Leck (Palaia) and her husband, Jason, of Newtown, and Nicole Palaia of Southampton. He was also the proud “Poppie” of his adoring grandchildren, Gabrielle, Julia, & Dillon McNamee and Emma Enlgert. Lastly, he is survived by his sisters, Barbara Henderson and Patricia Hohnstock and was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Hohnstock. He also leaves behind his beloved Shih Tzu, Daisy.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 3:00 PM until his Funeral Service at 4:30 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954 with a continued celebration of his life to follow.
