Daniele DeSantis
Daniele DeSantis of Newtown and formerly of Willow Grove died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was 92.
Daniele was the beloved husband of 60 years to Albina Giuliani DeSantis.
Born in Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Daniele and Angelina DeSantis and the brother of the late Frank, Giuseppe, Enina and Edivage DeSantis.
Daniele was a proud, hardworking man. For 35 years he worked as a cement mason and belonged to the Cement Mason Union. He enjoyed many interests, one being spending time in his vegetable garden and tending to his fig trees. In the fall he loved making his homemade wine and Italian delicacies. As a young man he was a member of a bowling league and won numerous trophies each year. Daniele was also an active member of the Sons of Italy organization. He was an avid fan of boxing, listening to Italian opera, and hunting. At family parties and social events, he always competed in bocce ball, one of his favorite pastimes. He loved seeing his grandchildren and spending time with them. After his retirement he spent the summer months at his beach house in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. Daniele always looked forward to his trips back to Italy to see his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Albina, Daniele is survived by his loving and devoted children; Angelo DeSantis and his wife Anne of Skippack, Pina Hipple and her husband Tony of Newtown, Danny DeSantis of Oreland, Gloria Varallo and her husband Marc of Horsham, and Marco DeSantis of Fort Washington. He is also survived by his eight dear grandchildren, and his brother Antonio DeSantis who lives in Venezuela.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday June 4, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road Newtown, PA 18940 from 10:00AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00AM. His entombment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Prospectville, PA.
