Joseph V. Ramirez

Joseph “Joe” V. Ramirez died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at his home in Holland PA. Joe was a 55-year resident of Northampton Twp. and would have celebrated his 96th birthday later this month.

Joe was the beloved husband of Hertha P. Ramirez and shared 43 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, Joe was the son of the late Jose A. and Helen Lavelle Ramirez. He was married to the late Rita Ramirez for 24 years and they had 6 children. He was the brother of the late Jack Ramirez and Toni Hogan.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School. He went on to serve in the Army and achieved the rank of Master Sargent. As a WW II Veteran he took part in the D-Day operation. After being honorably discharged, Joe enjoyed a long career in sales. He worked with his friend Jack Metzger at Pyco Industries for more than 60 years. At the young age of 90, Joe finally retired. Joe loved to play tennis and golf with his wife and children. He tried very hard, but had little success making his boys better golfers.

Joe will be missed dearly by his wife Hertha and his nine children, Diane Clemons (Terry), Bobby Ramirez (Darlene), Bill Ramirez (Cynthia), Elaine Hart, Rita Ramirez, Joe Ramirez (Valerie), Martin McDonough (Joanne), David McDonough and Maureen Szogas (Eric); and his siblings, Jimie Ramirez (Cass) and Jeri Ramirez; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
