John Robert Riccio (Danese)

John Riccio, 67, beloved husband of Beth Danese, decided it was time to peacefully pass away on Tuesday June 8, 2021, at Abington Jefferson Hospice, Warminster, after a valiant battle against metastatic melanoma.

A long-time resident of New Hope, PA, and a life-long Bucks County resident, John was the founder & owner of both Specialty Tank & Welding, Inc. and Bucks County Tank & Welding, located in Bristol, Pa. He was second to none when it came to designing and building vessels, fueling stations and anything else from the most basic to the most intricate creations in steel. He liked to share his knowledge and teach others. For many years he was also the co-owner of the Resmondo - Specialty Tank professional softball team in the Super Major division of the USSSA, and earned his spot in the Hall of Fame.

When John wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time on the waters off of both Long Beach Island and the Delaware River on his boat. He had a special bond with his nephews Dominic, Vinny & AJ and thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow up and excel at various sports.

He also adored his Australian Shepherds, Ruby & Luke (as well as the dogs that came before them) and never missed an opportunity to take them on a long ride, to play in the creek or just to snuggle in with them. A diehard Phillies, Eagles and New England Patriots fan, he always made every game and tailgate extra fun. He never approached anything half -way, always bringing to every event, whether work, personal or sport, an unbridled energy and penchant for fun.

John was the son of the late Albert Riccio of Bristol and the late Evelyn Phillips-Riccio of Hulmeville. He is pre-deceased by his sister, Arlene. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father and mother-in-law Richard & Linda Danese, mother-in-law Margaret Danese, brother & sister in-law Doug & Niki Danese, nephews Dominic, Vinny & AJ Danese, in-laws Dominic & Joyce Marziani, special cousins Nancy, Renee & Denise Riccio, his twin brother Pasquale Riccio (Kathy), and a son John, as well as many friends, colleagues, nieces, nephews & cousins and extended family.

John’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday June 16th from 9:00am until his Funeral Service 11:00am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem.

Memorial contributions in John’s name may be sent to either the Abington-Jefferson Hospice Program, PO Box 569, Philadelphia, PA 19105 or to the Bucks County SPCA, 1665 Street Road, New Hope, PA 18938.

A special heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at the Abington-Jefferson Hospice. You made an unbearably sad situation have meaning and purpose.
