Frances A. Manobianco (Guardino)

Frances A. Manobianco, of Newtown, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown. She was 88.

Born in Brooklyn, she was the beloved wife of 63 years to Dominic J. Manobianco, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose DiLeos Guardino in Brooklyn, NY and sister of the late Richard Guardino.  

Fran graduated Erasmus High School in 1950.  She received her BS in Home Economics from Brooklyn College in 1954 and a Master’s in Education from Hunter College in 1956.  She taught home economics in high schools for three decades including special education for several years at Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School in Oakland, NJ.  When Fran taught at Indian Hills, she organized a yearly fashion show where her sewing students could display their work. 

While co-chair of the Springfield (PA) Junior Woman’s Club and Pipeline, Fran organized a “Dangers of Drug Use” program to be presented to fourth and fifth grade public and parochial school students.  Fran enjoyed playing the piano and loved to cook and knit.  She was a loving, beautiful woman with a kind spirit and warm, welcoming smile.

In addition to her husband, Dominic, she is survived by her daughter Catherine Talarico and her husband Robert, her son John Manobianco and her grandchildren; Robert Talarico, Michael Talarico and Julia Manobianco.

Private services and interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fran’s name may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940 or Pickering Manor, 226 N. Lincoln Ave., Newtown, PA 18940.
