Theresa Ann Phillips (Jumper)

Theresa Ann Phillips (née Jumper), of New Hope, passed away peacefully in her home on June 19, 2021 at the age of 73.

She was the cherished wife of 37 years to Robert (Bob) E. Phillips. Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Germantown neighborhood of the city, she was the beloved daughter of Bernard and Florence Crawford.  The second oldest of eight children, Theresa was an amazing big sister and natural caregiver.

In addition to her husband, Theresa is survived by her children: Wendy Ann Stitzer (Randy) of Nazareth, Tomi-Jon Whisted (Jen) of Upper Darby, Jaime Lyn Whisted of Havertown, Joshua Phillips (Donna) of Philadelphia, and Jacob Paul Phillips (Rebecca) of Drexel Hill; 9 grandchildren (Scott, Lindsey, Amanda, Allyson, Averi, Derek-Scott, Colden, Lily, Graham); and by a host of extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Scott Derek Whisted.

Theresa’s work ethic was unmatched.  Co-workers from her time at Bell Telephone, Clover and Robinson Luggage would remember her as being driven, dedicated and fun to work with.  When not tirelessly working to create a better life for her family, she could often be found volunteering.  She was a CCD teacher at St. Bernadette’s in Drexel Hill, volunteered for every election at the polls and was a member of the events planning committee at the Village of Buckingham Springs.

Theresa was full of life and had an infectious smile.  Her magnetic personality allowed her to make friends everywhere she went.  She was the first and last one on the dance floor and always encouraged everyone to join her.  Her quick wit and dry sense of humor kept everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path, laughing.

She loved her Bunco friends, exploring new towns with her husband, Bob, playing Jeopardy with her family and shopping whenever she got the chance.  In recent years, she loved shopping at Bucks County Thrift Stores with her friends from the Village.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, will be held privately at a later date.

Theresa never met a hat she didn’t like and we invite everyone in attendance to wear their favorite one to honor her.

Memorial donations can be made in her honor to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association.
