Jeanne M. Scarola (Gaughan)

Dr. Jeanne M. Scarola, of Hatfield, PA died unexpectedly on Friday, June 25, 2021, at her home. She was 51.

She was the beloved wife of 14 years to Matthew Scarola.

Born in Meadowbrook, PA, she was the daughter James G. Gaughan of Southampton and the late Brunhilde Leinmueller Gaughan.

A graduate of LaSalle University and Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, Jeanne cared deeply for her patients and was always looking for the best way to help them. Her colleagues described her surgical technique as excellent and shared so many stories of Jeanne making hard times easier with laughter.

An adventurous traveler, Jeanne completed research in Africa, and when she met Matt, the love of her life, as her daughter puts it, they began their life together in Hawaii.

Jeanne was creative and enjoyed sharing her talents with all those around her. When a job needed to be done, everyone knew that they could rely on Jeanne to execute with perfection. Especially for her daughters, Jeanne, a loving mom, did everything she could to support them. She was always thinking of her family and friends and knew exactly how to show them she cared.

IIn addition to her loving husband, Jeanne is survived by her two adoring daughters, Danielle Scarola and Cecily Scarola, her brother Daniel Gaughan and his wife Jean of Metuchen, NJ, her sister Deborah Voit and her husband James Voit Jr. of Exton, PA her mother and father in law, Dr. Joseph and Barbara Scarola, Collegeville, PA and her godparents; Ella and Larry Wittwer, Southampton, PA.  She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in law Peter Scarola and his wife Sarah of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Alexander Scarola and his wife Colleen of Haddonfield, NJ and Suzanne Hildonen and her husband Shawn of Georgetown, MA and her 10 nieces and nephews; Isabella, Autumn, Conner, Owen, Keira, Trip, Bryce, Micah, Sebastian and Greta.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 9:30 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:30 AM in St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440.  Her interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.
