Donna L. Detwiler (Sutherland)

Donna L. Detwiler, 76, of Exton, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Charles “Bill” W. Detwiler, Sr.

Born November 22, 1944 in West Chester, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Ethel L. (Vleck) Sutherland.

Donna was born, raised, and raised a family in Unionville, PA.  A true lover of farm life, her life loves included gardening, canning, cooking recipes, and most importantly family gatherings.  When the time came to leave farm-life, and move a whole one mile down the road, she focused her time on her children’s activities, traveling, and worked as a receptionist for a retirement community.  Once retired she resided in Delaware with Bill, enjoying long RV stays in Florida, taking cruises, and babysitting the grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Charles, Donna is survived by three children, Charles W. Detwiler, Jr. (Linda) of Morgantown, Candace Haftl (Michael) of Exton, and Melissa Feddersen (Mark) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Hope, Chelsea, Michael, Joseph, Rebecca, Marquard, Emily, Morgan, Matthew, and Macie; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bonnie Corrado (Joseph) and Linda Laffey (John).

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 1:00 pm until her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, with the interment to be held at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
