Donald B McCoy

Donald B. McCoy of Richboro, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Chandler Hall Hospice. He was 83 years old.

Donald was a loving husband to his late wife Joan with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Donald was the only son of the late Darrell B. and Marion B. Zeller McCoy.

Donald was a man that lived life to the fullest, a very caring man that never wasted a second of his life, he always made sure he had something going on!

A graduate of LaSalle College High School in Philadelphia he was accepted and graduated from Villanova University and Temple Law School with Juris Doctor. Joining the United States Navy as a Commissioned officer he served with pride on the USS Randolph, a task force operating in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. During his 8-year tour of duty he was involved as the primary recovery ship in February of 1962 picking up John Glenn after his most famous orbit of the Earth. Also, that very same year the crew of the Randolph was ordered by John F Kennedy to blockade the Soviet Union from delivering missiles to Cuba during the most famous “Cuban Missile Crisis”, the Randolph was deployed with three other carriers -- Independence, Essex, and Enterprise.

Moving from Philadelphia to a small town in Bucks County in 1969, Don worked as an Attorney for Jack Dean Law Firm, but that was never enough so he worked his way to being a partner in Dean and McCoy Law Firm and eventually becoming his own boss in his own firm McCoy and Auchinleck, P.C. Donald represented clients such as Bristol Township and Middletown Township, Lower Bucks Municipal Authority, Real Estate clients and many more. He also was involved in many community groups in Bucks County as well as very involved in politics in Lower Bucks County.

In 2002 Don had become restless and decided to retire from Law and started a Residential Construction Company building homes for people in Bucks County mostly with disabilities, later to evolve into a residential and Commercial builder through Bucks County and Philadelphia.

Donald will be missed and remembered by his children, MaryKay Walsh (Martin), Michael McCoy (Sandra) and Joan Ann Pagano (Dean); his grandchildren, Brian, Jacqueline (Jared), Sean (Jennifer), Patrick (Kim), Michelle, Reagan, Riley and Nathaniel; and his great grandchildren, Raelynn, Addyson, Ava and Jaxson.

Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) in Richboro, PA 18954. His interment, with military honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
