Linda A. Felt (Sergent)

Linda Felt passed away on January 14, 2022 after a battle with Lymphoma.  She is remembered as one of our community’s pillars having contributed her entire career to the growth of so many of Bucks County’s non-profit organizations including 25 years as the Vice President of Development at Doylestown Hospital.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herman Sergent. She leaves behind a loving husband, Leland, her best friend, and mother Georgetta Sergent, son Clint Dolby, daughter-in-law Janeen, two granddaughters, Chloe and Paige, brother Rodney Sergent, sister in-law Jamille, stepson Bryan Felt, step daughter-in-law Tara, stepdaughter Meredith, stepson-in-law Steve and five step-grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Kelsey, Brayden, and Addyson.

As a grandmother, she was affectionately named “GoGo” by her then 2 yr. old granddaughter Paige, because she couldn’t say “grand mom”. That name stuck and was adopted by both granddaughters and step-grandchildren. Linda was the family organizer, planning annual family reunions with other reunions taking place on major holidays. With her husband Leland (Lee), they organized semi-annual, joint family vacations to Alaska, the Outer Banks and Maine. Linda’s personal priority in life was to nurture and support her family.

Linda’s philanthropic involvement in the community extended beyond Doylestown Hospital. In some of these organizations she participated as a distinguished board member, with others a committee chair and yet others a sought-after advisor. The organizations include the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic that she helped found with Herman Silverman, The Doylestown Hospital Foundation, The Village Improvement Association, Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, The County Theater, Bucks County Children’s Museum, Bucks County Symphony, Bucks County Choral Society, Doylestown Presbyterian Church, Montgomery Theater, The Bucks County Foundation, Doylestown Business and Community Alliance, CB Cares, and the Hammerstein House. She gave of both her professional and personal time towards supporting the greater community good. Her passion helped these organizations to grow, flourish and serve the community at large adding to diverse aspects of Bucks County’s cultural fabric.

Besides Linda’s vast number of community contributions, for some it was the number of pies she offered through fundraising auctions. Bids of several hundreds of dollars was the norm whenever her pies were part of the bidding tables with many good-natured bidding wars pursuing.

Linda had many unique abilities especially when it came to the building of strong and long-lasting relationships with donors and other community leaders. Her warm and welcoming smile drew many to engage with her and come away with a desire to build on that encounter. Her wisdom, creativity and honesty were sought after qualities that benefited both organization and donor alike. She worked to find a common ground, allowing all involved to find a mutually beneficial answer that would result in greater health benefits, provide a community service, or expand the fine arts. For many years she was the catalyst for the creation of Doylestown Hospitals “Art Walk” which includes the hospitals acquisition of fine art from Bucks County’s renowned artists.

All who knew her will find a void in her passing. Whether it be her enduring smile, her willingness to be a part of a solution or just miss calling her “GoGo”, she will never leave our hearts. Many in our community called her friend while many more became life-long friends.

Linda’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday evening January19, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 23rd at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E Court St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
