Kimberly D. Hagerich (Chapman)

Kimberly Dawn (Chapman) Hagerich, 52, of Doylestown, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 20, 2022.  She was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Alan and Barbara Chapman on March 30, 1969.  She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Todd Hagerich, daughters Katherine and Emma Hagerich, father Alan Chapman and brother Brandon Chapman.  She was preceded in death by her mom, Barbara (Phillips) Meyer.

Kim graduated from Federal Hocking High School and from Ohio State University with a degree in Finance.  She worked for various banks early in her career, then financial aid for Bentley College and Auburn University, and most recently as an Office Manager for employment law firm Hardwick Benfer LLC.  Beyond Kim’s work experience, she was extremely involved in the Doylestown community.  She taught Sunday School for 14 years at the Doylestown United Methodist Church and ran the Girls 5th/6th grade basketball program for CBAA (Central Bucks Athletic Association).  At Cold Spring Elementary school, Kim was Vice President of the HSA (Home School Association) where she ran the Race for Education and KidsVote programs, oversaw the yearbook publication and was an iRun4Life Coach.  Additionally, Kim served as a Girl Scout troop leader for 7 years and ran the Girl Scout Cookie Program for several years after her girls finished scouting. 

Since Kim’s initial breast cancer diagnosis in October 2005, she was a tireless advocate and supporter of women dealing with breast cancer and various breast cancer organizations.  Here are some of the roles and organizations Kim participated in:  Patient Advocate on Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Board of Directors, Graduate of National Breast Cancer Coalition's (NBCC) Project LEAD, Graduate of NBCC's Clinical Trials Project LEAD, Consumer Grant Reviewer for the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program, Susan G. Komen Grant Reviewer, Consumer advocate on Fox Chase research grants, Pennsylvania Team Leader - leading groups of advocates in lobbying for breast cancer issues on Capitol Hill during NBCC Lobby days, Co-Founder Young Survivor Coalition (YSC) of Greater Philadelphia, coordinator of lobby day efforts and visits for the entire Commonwealth of PA for the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation, participated in the Scientist for a Day advocate training program at Fox Chase, spoke at numerous community and educational events including the BMW Drive to Survive and Pine2Pink events in Doylestown, attended numerous educational breast cancer conferences including LBBC conferences, YSC conferences, NBCC conferences, the Department of Defense Era of Hope conference, and Linda Creed conferences; LBBC Helpline volunteer, participated in YSC's Research Think Tank as Chair of the Treatment work, YSC honoree at the Komen Survivor Brunch, facilitator of support groups for young women with breast cancer at Gilda's Club, participant and fundraiser at Komen Race for the Cure, and coordinator for Healthcare Provider educational events for YSC.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday January 27, 2022 at the Doylestown United Methodist Church (DUMC) at 320 East Swamp Road Doylestown, PA 18901.  The funeral service will be live streamed at the following link for those who are unable to attend the service in person: https://boxcast.tv/view/kim-chapman-hagerich-funeral-service-492674 . There will be a private interment following the funeral service.
