John J. Filan

John J. Filan, of Holland, passed away suddenly Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Abington Jefferson Hospice, Warminster. He was 75.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late John and Rita Crail Filan, and the beloved husband of 52 years to Dorothy “Dottie” Rauluskevicius Filan.

A 1965 Graduate of West Catholic High School, he received an under graduate degree in Chemistry from St. Joseph University 1969, and his Master Degree in science from St Joseph University in 1970.

Communicant of St Bede the Venerable Parish, he and Dottie lived in Holland for 42 years

John had an extensive career as an analytical Chemist with GSK, retiring in 2016 after 40 years. A family man devoted to his children and grandchildren, he enjoyed reading and keeping up with his profession

In addition to his wife, John is survived by: sons Michael Filan of Wayne, PA, and Kevin Filan and his wife Marisa, of Marshall Creek, ; brothers Peter Filan and his wife Karen, of Williamsport PA, and James Filan and his wife Nancy, of Dagsboro, DE; sisters Kathy Reed and her husband Michael, of Fishers, IN, Penny Sapienzo and her husband Tony, of Outer Banks, NC, and Meg Dzedzy and her husband Don, of Dagsboro, DE; as well as grandchildren Braydon, Kieran, Alexander, Devon, and Gavin.

Relatives and friends are invited to join John’s family at his visitation on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 10:00am until a sharing of remembrances at 11:00AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd) Richboro, PA 18954. His Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd, Holland, PA 18966. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Bede the Venerable Church at the address above or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
