John J. Maloney

John J. Maloney of Richboro, PA died peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Jefferson University Hospital Torresdale Division.  He was 78.

He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Suzanne E. Soda Maloney.

Born in Philadelphia, John was the third born of the nine children of the late James and Evelyn Master Maloney.

John was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Independence, whose home dock was in Norfolk, Virginia.  After his discharge and working in various positions, John went on to work for the Postal Service at the age of 50.  John enjoyed times spent with family and friends playing golf, cultivating his gardens, entertaining friends with his humor, attending functions hosted by family and friends and supporting his grandchildren by attending their school and sporting events.  He enjoyed listening to country and Irish music.  John was a humble man who appreciated life, family and friends.  He was always willing and ready to help anyone who needed a hand.  He stoically fought every illness that came his way and had an immense zest for life.  John will be greatly missed, but eternally loved and remembered by everyone who had the pleasure to have been in his life and loved by him.

In addition to his beloved wife Suzanne, John is survived by his loving and devoted children: John J. Maloney and his wife Lisa of Bensalem, PA;  Stephanie Valenti and her husband Gregory of Richboro, PA; and Andrew Maloney and his wife Heather of Warrington, PA.  He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas (Elizabeth) and was survived by his four brothers: James (Barbara), William (Kathy), Robert (Tina), and David Maloney; his three sisters: Irene Boggs, Rosemary Harrington (the late Joseph), and Kay Talbot (John); his eight dear grandchildren:  Kyle, Colin, Braedon, Harper, Landon, Bryson, Liam, Breccan, and his numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 3252 Chesterfield Road Philadelphia, PA 19114.  His interment will take place privately in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.
