Janice Lynn Hengel

Janice Lynn Hengel died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at her home in Newtown, PA, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was 75.

Born September 8, 1946, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Frederick William and Dr. Marguerite Victoria (Henrie) Hengel.

Her education included Masters Degrees from both Wayne State University and The University of Pennsylvania. Until her retirement, she worked in Occupational Therapy at Hagedorn State Hospital in Paterson, NJ. After retirement, she enjoyed crafts and became a “bead weaver” and jewelry maker, belonging to the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.

A passionate traveler, Janice visited countries in both Americas, Europe, and Scandinavia, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Her memories of these times, and her many friends, are the things she cherished most.

Janice is survived by her brother, Fred Hengel, cousins Renee Tomko, Jim Hengel, Nancy Berube, and their families.

Services and interment will be private.
