Margaret Morgan (Tafe)

Margaret T. Morgan  (Peg/ Maggie) passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Wyncote Place, Wyncote, PA.  Born on November 4, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Regina (Mahoney) Tafe.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas S. Morgan, who passed away in 2017 and her brothers, Harry and Joseph Tafe.  She is survived by her daughter, Donna M. Santoro and her husband, Christopher, and her grandson’s Alec and Matthew Santoro.  She is also survived by a niece, several nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Margaret was born and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia and attended St. Helena’s Elementary School.  She then continued her high school education at St. Basil Academy in Fox Chase, PA.   She always had a wonderful entrepreneurial spirit and started a silk screening business, Emphasis, Ltd. In 1976 and then operated three retail locations, known as RipTide East selling collegiate clothing and activewear.  These stores were located in Ocean City and Stone Harbor, NJ, and Peddler’s Village, Lahaska, PA.  The Rip Tide stores were extremely popular shopping destinations at the NJ shore and PA.

After her retirement, she remained active through aquatic aerobics, hiking, biking, skiing and other forms of exercise that she enjoyed.  She spent the winter months at their home in The Villages, Florida and continued to enjoy the summers on their boat at the Jersey shore.  She and her husband, Doug loved exploring new restaurants, dining out and traveling with their friends.  They also cherished the times with their family and friends.

Margaret and Doug adored their grandsons, Alec and Matthew and loved spending quality time with them.  They enjoyed their times at the NJ shore, skiing excursions, and many other outings.
