Edith M. Goodwin

Edith May Strikwerda Goodwin, of Pipersville, PA died on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Abington Hospital. She was 80.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, William J. Goodwin, Sr. and was predeceased by her first husband Gene Strikwerda.

Born in Philadelphia PA, she was the daughter of Titus and Mildred Larimer Boorse.

Edie was born and raised in Philadelphia where she met and married her late husband Gene Strikwerda. They moved to Pipersville in 1969 where they raised their 5 children. After the passing of Gene, Edie met and married Bill Goodwin in 1997.

Edie had many talents from cooking to sewing and anything in between but her biggest love was art. Her ability to create things was amazing. When she wasn’t chasing after 5 children she would enjoy quiet moments by the pool or just sitting reading a book.

Her door was always open to anyone that wanted to pop in and sit around her table sharing stories and laughter over cups of coffee or tea.

She will be greatly missed by so many.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is also survived by her five children; Gene Strikwerda and Sue of Perkasie, Robin Davco and Ron Springtown, Amanda Layre and Jeff Eustice Doylestown, Lynette Ross and Bryan McGovern of Plymouth Meeting, and Sherri Strikwerda Pipersville, her two step-children; Ginger Gruver and Brad of Doylestown and William J. Goodwin Jr. and Carrie Reninger of Yardley, and her sister Beverly Hanson of Springfield, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Hunter Strikwerda, Michael (Lindsey) Frenk and their daughter Avery, Renee Frenk, Lance Frenk, George Layre, Summer Layre, Becca (Steven) Hockel and their children Cole and Kylie, Bryan Ross, Ben Ross (and his fiancee Nirvanna), Kelly (Yooku) Tachie-Menson and their children Cal and Cam, Amanda (Eric) Landis and their daughter Harlee, Cody (Coleen) Davis and their daughter Tenley, Amanda (Tim) Ricci and their children Calvin, Ella, Tessa and Jonas, Ben Gruver, Emily Gruver, Trevor O'Brien (fiancee Katie), William J. (Heather) Goodwin III and their daughter Piper, Victoria Goodwin, Rebekah Goodwin, and Darbi Goodwin.
