Eva R. Girone (Raieta)

Eva R. Girone, 88, of Warminster, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis M. Girone.

Born October 22, 1933 in Philadelphia, she was the only daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Martin and Ester (Zotti) Raieta.

Eva was a graduate of Little Flower High School and Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. While she was still in high school, she won a prestigious and difficult competition leading to her exhibiting her Chemistry project at the World Fair. Eva worked for Pennsalt Chemicals Corporation in Philadelphia out of college, and then raised a family.  She went back into the workforce as an office manager for Engineered Plastics in Northeast Philadelphia for 30 years, before retiring in her mid-70’s.

Eva raised her four boys alone after her husband’s death in 1981. She loved to travel, but Ocean City, NJ, was where she created a lifetime of memories for her children and grandchildren.  She loved to play any card game and Mahjongg.

She was a parishioner of Saint Christopher Parish in Somerton for many years, and then Nativity of Our Lord when she moved to Warminster. Eva was an officer in the Madonna Del Rosetta Society, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Girone (Carole), Steven Girone (Allison), Thomas Girone (Mary Beth), and Gregory Girone; seven grandchildren, Cate (Matt), Adrienne, Will (Maria), Ben (Alyssa), John, Anne, and Graham; and two great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Road, Warminster. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
