Anthony J. Speranza

Anthony J. “Tony” Speranza, 77, of Chalfont, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was the loving husband of Jean A. (Murtha) Speranza.

Born May 27, 1945 in Ambler, he was a son of the late Peter and Marian (Isabella) Speranza.

Tony grew up in Ambler, PA.  Jean and Tony met at a bowling alley as they played on the same team.  She did not like him at first because she thought he was too bossy. They went on to marry in August of 1966.  He served in the United States Army and had love for his country and appreciated the military discount everywhere he went.  He was surrounded by all girls with his children and grandchildren and never complained but was in his glory when along came the great-grandchildren who are boys. He was not outnumbered as much.  His family was his whole world.  He was the most generous person to his family and even a total stranger.  He could fix anything according to all his granddaughters.  We will miss him, but he is now our guardian angel.

Along with his wife, Jean, Anthony is survived by two daughters, Carla McHale of West Chester, OH and Tina Rish (Sheldon) of Aurora, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Kate, Karlee, and Kassidee; two great-grandchildren, Sylas and Lucas; and a sister, Rose DePalma.

Anthony was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kara, in 1992; a brother, Joseph Speranza; and a brother-in-law, Pat DePalma.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Friday, July 22, 2022 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown. Interment will be held privately.
