Anthony J. Lucidi

Anthony John Lucidi, of Holland, PA, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. He was 79 years old.

Anthony was the beloved husband of Janet L. Hunter Lucidi. The couple shared 57 faithful years together.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Anthony was the only child of the late Anthony and Margaret Damian Lucidi. He grew up surrounded by their immense love and numerous extended family members. He always spoke very fondly of his childhood both in Philly and in Longport, NJ, where the family spent their summers.

While attending Villanova University, Tony met Janet on a blind date. While getting to know each other they realized that they had been born in the same Philadelphia hospital one day apart, and had both attended St. Matthew’s Elementary School but never met because the girls’ and boys’ schools were separated. It was a match made in Heaven, and they married in 1965.  Tony started his career working in his father’s steel fabrication business, and eventually took it over. He successfully ran A. Lucidi & Sons, Inc. for over 20 years. After leaving the steel business altogether, Tony dabbled in a few alternate professions. He was a real estate agent and at one point a tax collector in Longport, NJ. Throughout his life, Tony enjoyed several hobbies. He was an avid boater and fisherman, a passion he imparted on his two sons. While his boys were in Boy Scouts, he involved himself by becoming a Scout Leader. His latest and most favorite hobby was golf. In retirement, he accomplished his goal of spending the winter months in Bonita Springs, FL, golfing as often as possible. When he’d return to PA for the spring and summer months, he’d spend even more time on the links as both a golfer and ranger at Makefield Highlands Golf Club. He remarkably achieved the unique feat of hitting two holes-in-one.Tony always placed his family first in his life, a value he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Throughout their enduring marriage, he and Janet epitomized the meaning of partnership. They grew more in love each passing year, and demonstrated their devotion to each other and to their family through both the best and the toughest of times.

In addition to his wife Janet, Anthony will be missed tremendously by his loving children, Anthony Lucidi, Gerard “Gerry” and Melissa Lucidi, and Megan and Lukas Okoniewski. He will be remembered by his grandchildren, with whom he had a special relationship, Nicholas, Sophia, Madelynn, Danielle, Adrien, and Julia.

Friends and relatives are invited to greet Anthony’s family on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 10:00am until the start of his Funeral Mass, 11:30am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA 18940.  His interment will take place privately at Resurrection Cemetery, on a different date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anthony’s name to DaVita Newtown Dialysis Center, 60 Blacksmith Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. Attn: Kelly Oommen. Please include his name on the Memo line of your check.
